Greatland Excursion's office is located in the beautiful Matanuska
Valley. Steve and Ray have been hunting and fishing all over Alaska
for most of their lives. From Barrow to the Southeast, they will take
you to where the game is. If you're looking for that trophy fish or
for that once in a lifetime upland or waterfowl hunt, we will work
hard to get that done for you. We know where the birds are and when
to go get them.
Alaska offers some of the finest hunting and fishing available anywhere
in the world Alaska it has numerous species of waterfowl and upland
birds to choose from. Whether its ducks, geese or upland birds your
after, Alaska has it all.
Steve has put on upland bird hunts for parties, corporations, non-profit
groups and private individuals. For several years we've offered Pheasant,
Quail and Chucker. These are not you typical farm raised birds, we
have a special technique in raising these birds that makes them as
wild as they come.
Ray has been fishing and guiding for the last 10 years
from Halibut to Grayling and everything in between, he can put you
on the fish, tell you what to use, and give you proper instruction
on what technique works best. He will do everything he can to get
you that once in a lifetime trophy.
When it comes to waterfowl, that's what Steve and
Ray specialize in. They are exceptional at bringing birds to the blocks,
giving you the best shot possible. They use a variety of calling techniques
and decoy spreads. Their knowledge of where birds roost and when/where
they move to feed make all the difference.
Steve and Ray keep a kennel full of well trained dogs
to enhance your hunting pleasure, of course you are welcome to bring
your own trained Retriever. Many of Steve's dogs have been featured
in videos and have made television appearances for their outstanding
work in the field. Many of these dogs are available for stud or sale.
Duck species you will have an opportunity at are Mallards, Pintail,
Greenwing and Blue Wing Teal, Widgeon, Spoonbills Greater and lesser
Scaup, Barrows and Common Goldeneyes, Buffleheads and many more.
